The National Childbirth Trust (NCT) is the largest and best-known childbirth and parenting charity in on antenatal, birth and postnatal issues.
We provide a range of quality educational and support services for parents at local level and promote the principle of informed choices for women and their partners. We campaigned for the presence of partners at birth, and the rooming in of babies with mothers. In 2006, we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary. | Whether you are new to the NCT or simply new to the area, we would like to extend a warm welcome from the Fareham & District branch to you and your family. Through this website, you will be able to find out about all the activities and services we run for parents and children in this area. Branch AGM & Skittles Night Tuesday 22 November, 8.00pm, The Coach & Horses pub, Titchfield Please come along to the Fareham & District NCT Branch AGM. This year, it's going to be a social event, with the AGM business concluded by approx 8.30pm. The rest of the evening promises to be a fun-packed night, playing skittles until about 11pm. No charge for attending the AGM, but the skittles is £5 a head. Please book in advance - click below for full details. |
Annual Children's Party Sunday 4 December, 3.15-5.15pm, Wallington Village Hall Lots of entertainment for children from about 18 months to 7 years old, including Mr Giant, craft activities, games, party lunch, Father Christmas, plus a present. All for £6.50 (over 18 months) - 3 for the price of 2 if there are 3 children from the same family. Baby chill out room (£3 charge per baby, including present). No charge for adults. | Bring Back Blackbrook Babies campaign going strong Support for the reopening of Blackbrook Birth Centre continues to pour in. The Friends of Blackbrook ran another stand in Fareham town centre on Friday 14 October - to raise awareness about the closure and generate more support for the petition. These names, added to those obtained at Stubbington Fayre, the Pram Push, through the on-line petition and other activities mean that we now have well over 3,000 names opposing Blackbrook's closure. |
Bumps & Babes and Movers & Shakers Update Bumps & Babes and Movers & Shakers have relocated to Titchfield Community Centre (Mill Suite) on a temporary basis following the closure of Blackbrook Birth Centre. Bumps & Babes is for expectant mums and carers of babies up to 12 months; Movers & Shakers is for early toddlers. Both groups now meet every Friday from 10-12. Everyone welcome - just drop in.
